Trash

  • Trash & recycling pick-up is on Thursday mornings every week. The day may change during a week due to holidays. Please check the main web page or follow our web page to be alerted when this happens.
  • Solid waste must be placed within one of the County issued garbage cans and put out no later than 6 a.m. on our designated pick-up day. No excess garbage outside of the County issued garbage cart will be collected. See further down for pick-up of bulk items. Garbage left outside the can will NOT be picked up.
  • The can with a tan lid is for trash
  • Please keep the lids closed once placed
  • Place your cans with the handle & wheels facing your home and at least 4 feet apart to allow the mechanical arm enough room to pick each one up and empty it. Most residents place a can at each end of their driveway.
  • For a replacement trash can, or to get a different size, please call Waste Pro at 407-774-0800, Option 1. Please note, there may be a fee for a replacement or a size change.

Recycling

  • Recycling collection follows the same rules as garbage collection and is on the same day
  • The can with the green lid is for recycling
  • Cardboard boxes [which can be recycled] must be in your recycling can. The waste service will not pick-up anything left next to your can. You will need to break boxes down and cut them up so they fit inside.

Yard Waste

  • Yard waste is considered to be vegetative material resulting from landscaping maintenance, including shrub and tree trimmings, grass clippings, leaves, palm fronds, and branches
  • Yard waste is picked up on Friday, the day after trash/recycling pick-up
  • Limbs and branches must be no longer than 4 feet in length with limbs no greater than 6 inches in diameter
  • Leaves may be bagged or placed into a container provided by the customer. All yard waste material must be placed within 3 feet of the curb or edge of the road no later than 6:00 a.m. on the designated pick-up day [Friday].
  • Residents are no longer required to tie, bag or bundle yard waste. It can be placed at the curb loose or in a bio-degradable or plastic bag.
  • [3/16/19] Waste Pro will no longer accept plastic garbage bags for yard waste items. They will empty the yard waste into their trucks and leave your plastic bags behind. You can place leaves or grass clippings out in paper lawn waste bags and they will take the bag with your yard waste (available at hardware and big box stores).
  • [Live] Christmas Tree removal:
    • remove all decorations from your tree
    • The tree can not be longer than 5 feet or it won’t fit in the truck. Please cut the trunk down into shorter pieces, none over 5 feet long.
    • Place out with any other yard waste on our yard waste pick-up day [Friday unless pushed back by a holiday] 

Bulk Items / Appliances / Furniture

  • Please call Waste Pro at 407-774-0800, Option 1 to schedule pick-up and removal of these items.
  • Our bulk pick-up day is Friday but YOU MUST CALL TO SCHEDULE! They will not take your items if you have not been added to their list for the day.

Some Items That Can’t Be Collected

  • Tires
  • Motor Oil
  • Lead-acid batteries
  • Household hazardous waste

Lake County Solid Waste Residential Convenience Center

Most types of wastes and recyclables can be taken to the dump facility in Lake County on Log House Road in Clermont.

  • This dump facility is open Wednesdays and Saturdays, 8 am to 5 pm only
  • Batteries, old paint, electronics, and motor oil are all types of items that can be brought there for disposal
  • Construction debris is not allowed – Items like that would need to be taken to the main dump in Astatula
  • Appliances like refrigerators and over-the-range microwaves can not be taken there. Please call 352-343-3776 to have these types of items picked-up curbside [normally on Fridays]
  • If you are unsure if your item can be taken here, call the facility at 352-394-5137 [Wed & Sat 8-5 pm] or call the main facility at 352-343-3776 [M-F 8-5 pm] and they will let you know
